HART – New Assessment & Virtual Coach
High Adversity Resilience Training (HART) is about learning advanced skills for occupations with unique challenges. This includes exposures faced by first responders, those working in healthcare, security, defence, and other occupations.
The reality is that in these occupations, there is a lot of training on how to physically do the work. However, there’s very little training about how to manage the ongoing mental impact of the work. And not just the work itself, but also the impact of more unexpected aspects such as paperwork, shift work, public interactions, and other aspects.
HART helps through building advanced skills – from sustainable compartmentalisation, to applying humour in high adversity settings, through to practical ways to prevent burnout and compassion fatigue. Through building on the PR6 resilience model, HART integrates with courses like Resilience First Aid (RFA) and Personal Resilience Essentials [PRE] Training, creating a comprehensive system to build a culture of resilience.
What’s New in HART?
We’re constantly on a mission to advance our programs and the impact they make, so here are two key updates for HART.
1. HART Meets V – our AI virtual coach
While most participants complete HART through instructor-led sessions, those who can’t attend a live workshop can complete the self-paced version of the certification. We’re excited to announce that HART has now been integrated with V, our AI virtual tutor.
Here’s how V enhances learning in the self-paced training:
- Realtime feedback – As participants work through activities in the HART Certification, V provides intelligent feedback to help with self-reflection and applying the skills to real life and thought patterns. This is like having a personal tutor there following along, enhancing comprehension and skill application
- Module Q&A – At the end of each module, participants can ask V questions through an open Q&A function, using a chat-based back-and-forth where V can help put the skill into context and ensure participants understand the content before continuing
- Ongoing support – After certification, V is available through the Driven Resilience App to talk through everyday challenges and providing ongoing support through resilience training
We’re always looking towards how our programs can make a more meaningful impact. Towards this goal, V provides a valuable addition to help self-paced learners to really absorb and get the most out of the HART training.
2. JSECC Psychosocial Assessment Update
HART includes the PR6+JSECC pre and post assessment. While PR6 measures personal resilience across six domains, the JSECC assessment includes Job Satisfaction, Engagement, Co-worker Connection Quality, and Work Context factors.
These four main JSECC factors cover 25 work-related sub-factors, enabling deep personal insight into a participant’s current experience of their work and how it impacts or supports their wellbeing.
What’s more, JSECC provides direct measurement of psychosocial hazards at a group level, now updated to include 17 psychosocial hazards identified in the national legislation.
The insight into psychosocial hazard management is crucial for workplaces to both ensure a healthy environment for staff, as well as manage organisational risk exposure. These hazards contribute to employee distress, therefore measuring and addressing these risks is a must for all workplaces. JSECC makes this easy through the PURE Psychosocial Hazard Management Framework.
PURE stands for Protect, Unite, Respect, and Empower. Each of these includes a set of psychosocial hazards that needs to be managed, and are measured through the JSECC group reports now updated in the HART program.
What’s Included in the HART Certification?
