Resilience First Aid Achieves AACME Accreditation and Expands Through Strategic Healthcare Partnership

Burnout impacts nearly one in three healthcare workers, and suicide rates among physicians are alarmingly high. Driven, a global leader in resilience training, is taking bold steps to change that. The Driven flagship program, Resilience First Aid (RFA), has now achieved accreditation by the American Academy of CME (AACME). This significant milestone allows physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals across the United States to earn Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) credits, reinforcing the importance of mental well-being in the high-stress healthcare sector.

This achievement is amplified by a strategic partnership with MindMe® Teams’ mental health scientific monitoring, prevention & detection system for public safety, distributed through the BlueCloudX network. This network expands the reach of Resilience First Aid to hospitals, clinics, first responders and healthcare organisations across the world. Together, these organizations are delivering essential tools for primary mental health prevention, creating a culture of resilience in healthcare settings where it is most needed.

Evidence-Based Training for Healthcare Challenges

Healthcare professionals face mounting challenges, including burnout, compassion fatigue, and trauma exposure. Research reveals stark statistics:

  • 8% prevalence of PTSD among emergency responders.
  • Suicide rates among physicians are 81% higher for men and 76% higher for women compared to other professions.
  • A survey of nearly 19,000 physicians found more than 32% intended to leave their roles within two years due to stress and lack of systemic support.

Resilience First Aid tackles these challenges head-on with a proactive, science-based approach. Grounded in the Predictive 6 Factor Resilience (PR6) model, the program equips participants with practical tools to enhance personal resilience, foster peer support, and recognise early signs of mental health challenges, including suicide risk factors.

Validated by New Research

New research published in the Journal of Applied Neurosciences further highlights the effectiveness of RFA. Key findings include:

  • 33% improvement in participants’ ability to recognise suicide warning signs
  • Gains in stress management (+17%), interpersonal communication (+22%), and tenacity (+15%)

This peer-reviewed study, published alongside the AACME accreditation announcement, underscores the scientific rigour and practical value of Resilience First Aid in high-stress environments.

Participants attest to its transformative impact. “Best training course I have experienced – so much take away for both my professional and personal life,” said Ruth, who recently completed the program.

A Paradigm Shift in Healthcare Resilience

“This accreditation and partnership mark a turning point in how healthcare addresses mental well-being and personal sustainability,” said Jurie Rossouw, CEO of Driven. “By equipping healthcare professionals with evidence-based tools to build resilience proactively, we’re not just addressing burnout and stress – we’re transforming how teams support one another and deliver care in even the most challenging environments.”

Expanding Access and Impact

Accredited for 14 hours of CME and CNE credits, the RFA certification is accessible through an interactive self-paced format. With BlueCloudX’s extensive network, healthcare organisations of all sizes can access the program, fostering supportive workplace cultures and improving staff retention.

Additionally, by partnering with MindMe® Teams, organizations take a comprehensive approach to mental wellness, ensuring peer support and wellness teams are educated and trained in the best methods for managing employee mental health. This collaboration empowers teams to proactively address mental health challenges, build resilience, and create a sustainable culture of well-being in the workplace.

Research underscores the cost-effectiveness of proactive prevention initiatives like RFA.  By addressing mental health challenges before they escalate, the program has the potential to reduce the estimated $282 billion spent annually on reactive mental health services in the United States.

What Healthcare Leaders Are Saying

“Through our collaboration with Driven, we aim to embed resilience into the fabric of healthcare systems,” said Al Pacino, President of BlueCloudX. “This initiative is a game-changer, providing tools that not only prevent burnout but also elevate the quality of care delivered by healthcare teams.”
