Instructor Bio

Tammie Horton is the CEO/Founder of Phynix Initiative, an organisation dedicated to raising mental well-being around the world. Apart from being a Resilience First Aid Instructor and Resilience Coach, she is also a Principal Master Instructor of Mental Health First Aid, Alternatives to Suicide facilitator, an international best-selling author, international speaker and Australasian Award winner.

In 2018 she left her 27-year career in the Australian Public Service to pursue her obsession with helping individuals and organisations around the world to improve their mental wellbeing.

Tammie has a lived experience of her own mental health struggles, is a domestic abuse survivor and has supported numerous family members, friends and colleagues experiencing psychological distress. She is driven by a desire to ensure prevention, early intervention and support are available when people need it most to enable them to rise up from the ashes of adversity, remain connected and live full and productive lives.

Tammie has reinforced her lived experience with extensive studies in mental health practice, has worked as a residential and one-on-one support worker and she has been using the tools of the Driven App and sharing them with others for four years. She is living proof that this program works.
